CSW68 Update 1: Ways to Engage, Contribute & Take Action

 

The meaningful and active participation of girls’ movements, women’s rights and civil society organizations is fundamental in the work of the annual UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).

The 68th session of the CSW (CSW68) will be happening hybrid – in New York at the UN Headquarters and virtually from 11 to 22 March 2024. The Priority Theme will be “Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective and the Review ThemeSocial protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls (agreed conclusions of the sixty-third session).

Important dates to note: The Africa pre-CSW expert group meeting (hybrid) will take place 10-11 November (in Addis for the in person) and Africa Ministerial meeting on 14th November also in Addis.
