FEMNET envisions an African society where gender equality is achieved and women and girls enjoy all their rights and live in dignity. In this recent publication, FEMNET reviews her past and current strategies and considers the world in which the organization, and the African Women’s Movement more broadly, work. How has that world changed since the founding of FEMNET and since the watershed 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing? What progress has been made by the women’s movement in that time; and what setbacks have been suffered? What changes would make FEMNET’s work more effective?
