FEMNET will be participating in the global PFD meeting from 17th to 19th June 2025. During this time FEMNET will contribute to discussions on EUs ways of working and provide recommendations for the upcoming EU Multi-Annual Financial Framework negotiations. As a PFD Task Team member, FEMNET will meet with Jozef Síkela the EU Commissioner for International Partnerships to debrief from the PFD meeting and have a dialogue on Implementation and Simplification of meaningful engagement with CSOs and Local Authorities.
The Global PFD meeting will take place as the new European Commission and European Parliament begin their work for the coming five-year cycle. In line with the fundamental commitment to work in partnership with civil society and local authorities, the Global PFD meeting offers an opportunity for dialogue about how the partnership among the EU institutions, Member States, civil society and local authorities can maintain their commitment to poverty reduction and sustainable development in face of today’s global challenges.
FEMNET is a member of the PFD and a member of the PFD Task Tea which is set up to maintain communication between PFD meetings and undertake preparatory work. The task team monitors and advises the functioning and performance of the PFD. FEMNET serves as the representative for CSO from Africa Region within the PFD Task team.
About PFD
The overarching goal of the PFD is to offer CSOs and local Authorities from the EU and partner countries, as well as European institutions, an inclusive multi-stakeholder space for dialogue on development issues at global and regional levels. Based on these discussions, the PFD aims to provide input, advice and best practices to the European Commission and other EU partners to develop and implement effective development policies and programs.
