Vice Chair, Southern Africa

Tshanikati Tessa Ntshalintshali

I am currently the Executive Director of Litshadvo, a young women and women’s organization that operates in the rural areas of Eswatini.

Returning from PAWO where I had been the convenor of the African young women’s Caucus and worked closely with the African Union Commission in our intentional effort to bring more young women from diverse backgrounds to the leadership of the women’s movement. PAWO has just been appointed a specialized agency of the AU and I worked with the Commission on the African women’s decade for African women and ensured that theme ten on empowering young women to be champions of gender equality was at the center of the decade.

I was proud that my efforts were recognised by the summit in Nairobi whereby the baton was handed to me by African women leaders. I am a member of the steering committee of PAWO and the Vice President of WAELE whose profile is attached. A lot still needs to be done especially at country level where especially on my country Eswatini young women’s Caucus still face all sorts of abuse and that is why I established Litshadvo.
